The Heart Behind Samson & Charlie: A Story of Love, Luxury, and Dedication

The story of Samson & Charlie began with a playful idea to name our brand 'Budgie Australia.' However, destiny had a different plan. A sudden health scare with our beloved Black Russian Terrier, Samson, turned our world upside down. Discovering a lump on him and fearing we might lose him to cancer, as another Black Russian Terrier owner recently had, we were faced with a profound realisation.
In that moment of fear and reflection, we decided that our brand needed to represent something deeply meaningful. What could be more fitting than naming it after the two beings we treasure most in this world—our dogs, Samson and Charlie? This pivotal decision marked the beginning of Samson & Charlie, a tribute to the unconditional love and joy they bring into our lives.
Our brand name is more than a title; it’s a testament to the bond we share with our boys. Charlie, with his boundless energy and loving nature, and Samson, our gentle giant, became the heart and soul of our brand. Tragically, in 2021, we lost our dear Charlie to brain cancer.
This heartbreaking loss only strengthened our resolve to honour his memory through our work. Samson, our big bear, continues to be the centre of our world, inspiring us every day with his strength and love.

Over the past 18 months, our engagement has significantly dropped due to my ongoing health issues, which resulted in fatigue. Finding my voice again with the love and support of family and our beautiful, loyal customers, who have championed and rallied behind us even during our quiet periods, has been incredibly uplifting. Aaron maintains extraordinary efforts, going above and beyond for every order we receive and customer query. In future we look forward to actively engage with our community through social media and our blog.
